this is a must have for any cook. i can't believe i wasted my money on cheaper "instant" read thermometers. i was all set to drop a hundred bucks on the thermapen and decided to give this one a try. i'm glad i did.
this thermometer claims a six second read time but its more like three. i couldn't be happier with it.

I've tried almost every thermometer out there and this one is the second best only behind the 90 dollar thermapen. As a previous reviewer said, this thermometer fits easily in a shirt pocket for easy access unlike the huge thermapen. I can get a pretty good reading on meats within 5 seconds most of the time. It is also water proof so cleaning it is a breeze. The only down side is that it only goes up to 300 degrees, so you can't use it to check oil or candy temps.

My daughter is a restaurant manager and she uses this exact model in the operation of the restaurant. It is a great product. I've only had it a little while but have had several opportunities to use it. In fact, I bought 6 more of them and gave them out as "generic" Christmas gifts. The calibration feature appears to be a good point althought I haven't had the opportunity to use that feature yet. I recommend this product. Price was a little high compared to other sources and the shipping charge for one item was twice as much as for 6 of the same item from another source.
